Halloween is fast approaching. Well, its presence has been in our midst since at least the middle of July.

Just before Halloween hits, here's something you may be interested in checking out, something along the lines of the scary season.

On Saturday, October 25th, the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra begins its 70th anniversary season at the Broome County Forum Theatre on Washington Street in Binghamton.

The first of the pop series concerts will be Boris Karloff’s ' Frankenstein' featuring a live screening of the 1931 film paired with the Philharmonic in real time. The feature was originally released without a musical soundtrack.

Composer Michael Shapiro conducts his dramatic film score as the movie rolls, making for an unforgettable evening of classic cinema, powerful live music, and a unique connection to Hollywood history. - Julia Grella O'Connell, Director, Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra

If that wasn't interesting enough, at 6:20 pm., just before performance time, there will be a special panel discussion featuring Sara Karloff, daughter of Boris Karloff. Sara will also be available for autographs at intermission.

An Organ Prelude will begin at 7 p.m., featuring Halloween-themed favorites on the Robert Morton IV/24 theater organ with Nancy Wildoner, president of the Binghamton Theater Organ Society. The main event will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Philharmonic notes that those who attend the performance are welcome to attend in costume, "entering into the world of 1930s horror brought vividly to life by the Philharmonic."

For more information and tickets, call the Binghamton Philharmonic Box Office at 607-723-3931 or visit the website.

By the way, visit our Seize The Deal page for a very special, limited deal for a pair of tickets to the concert on October 25th. The value is $80 per pair, but your cost is $48 while they last. Tickets will be available for pick up at our Townsquare Binghamton offices.
