New York State Police say three people suffered minor injuries and one suffered serious injuries when a Toyota Camry veered into the opposite lane of State Route 23 in the Town of Harpersfield in Delaware County and slammed, head-on into an International Harvest dump truck at 10:43 a.m. December 19.

56 year old Joseph Moore III and his front seat passenger, 80 year old Joseph Moore Junior sustained minor injuries while a backseat passenger, 76 year old Erna Moore suffered serious injuries to her legs and body.  The dump truck driver, 33 year old Ronald Birdsall sustained minor injuries.

Troopers say Moore was driving east and moved into the westbound lane.  After colliding with the dump truck, the passenger vehicle came to rest in the southern ditch.  The dump truck tipped over onto the passenger side and came to rest in the northern embankment.

Erna Moore was airlifted to Albany Medical Center while the three others were transported to Bassett Medical Center.

The investigation is continuing.
