According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened in front of Lindy's Ice Cream Shop on Route 12 shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say a car driven by 37-year-old Amber Ryan of Norwich turned into the path of another vehicle. The other car was driven by 61-year-old Randolph Smith of Earlville.

Ryan and a passenger in her car, 26-year-old Nicholas Ohl of Norwich, were taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. Police say Ohl sustained serious injuries.

Smith and a passenger in his vehicle, Robin Smith, also were transported to Wilson for treatment. Two other passengers in Smith's car were not hurt.

Route 12 was closed for about three hours after the crash. The investigation is continuing.
