Four Charged in Marijuana Mugging in Norwich
Four people are facing charges after Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say a person showed up at Chenango Memorial Hospital at around 11:30 p.m. October 2 with severe injuries apparently suffered when he was robbed of his marijuana and cash.
Sheriff’s officials say 19 year old Jade Orlando of Norwich allegedly lured the victim to Royal Avenue where 18 year old Brenden Gager and 19 year old Hunter Speenburgh, both of Plymouth, and 21 year old Landon Cummings of Norwich were reportedly hiding in bushes and attacked him.
Deputies say the victim suffered cuts to the head, missing teeth and other trauma in the attack.
Orlando was taken into custody at the scene while the other three were picked up early the next morning at a home in the Town of Plymouth.
All four are charged with felony robbery. Gager, Speenburg and Cummings are also charged with assault.
Authorities say the investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.
