A former director of the Susquehanna County Emergency Management Agency is accused of using a former employee’s personal information to open a credit card account and make purchases.

Pennsylvania State Police say 32 year old Robert Thatcher Junior of Hallstead is accused of using the line of credit after the victim had left the agency.

Investigators say the victim was alerted by creditors that his identity was used to open several fraudulent accounts.

Thatcher is charged with identity theft, access device fraud and receiving stolen property.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Susquehanna County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Montrose Borough Police.
