Fire Escape Collapse Injures Two in Johnson City
Officials are investigating a collapse of a fire escape behind a Johnson City building that left two men injured.
The two men reportedly had just stepped out onto a landing and stairs from a second-floor apartment above the Hooka Heaven bar and Café Oasis on Main Street near Broad Street at 2:44 a.m. September 15 when the platform collapsed plunging the men to the ground.
Johnson City fire and medical crews responded.
Both men suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency Services officials said they anticipated code officials would be conducting the investigation.
Village officials were unavailable for comment.
