A 24-year-old man died after a large tree limb fell on a tent while he slept at an Otsego County campground.

Authorities say Ryan Sutcliffe of Cumberland, Rhode Island, was in the tent at Grand Slam Campground in the Town of Morris.

According to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office, the limb came down shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.

Sutcliffe was pronounced dead at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.

Investigators say the tree limb was blown down during a strong thunderstorm.
