Johnson City Police say a Port Crane man is accused of driving erratically on Route 201, hitting a guiderail and continuing onto Riverside Drive with a flat tire June 11.

Police say 42 year old Kemo Whitten reportedly was seen throwing something into a wooded area, appeared intoxicated and was uncooperative and combative with officers.

A loaded .22 caliber rifle was found in his vehicle.

Whitten is charged with felony tampering with evidence, misdemeanor unlawfully possessing a loaded firearm in a vehicle, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, refusal to take a breath test and four counts of unsafe tires.

Whitten is to appear in Village Court in July.
