26-year-old Danielle Agosto was arrested by Endicott police after the three-year-old boy was injured in October 2017.

Agosto was convicted Thursday of second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She previously had admitted to injuring the child in an East Main Street apartment. Although she had pleaded guilty, she changed her mind and sought a trial.

Agosto initially told investigators the boy was hurt as the result of an accident. During the trial, the prosecution maintained she was responsible for several injuries to the child.

According to the Broome County district attorney's office, Agosto faces up to seven years in prison. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 21.
