Authorities say Benjamin Keeney of Endicott was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Investigators say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at JC Bar and Grill at 320 Grand Avenue.

Police say Keeney and a friend were told they wouldn't be served when they wouldn't provide identification as requested by the bartender.

The two men allegedly became upset and left the business. Keeney is accused of breaking a window to the right of the entrance.

Moments later, the bartender flagged down a village patrol car that was passing by the tavern. The officer was advised of the incident and the employee pointed out the suspect.

Keeney then is said to have run east from the scene. Police caught up with him on Allen Street and took him into custody after a brief struggle. No injuries were reported.

Keeney was arraigned in Johnson City Village Court and sent to Broome County Jail.
