Elderly Waverly Resident Assaulted in Home-Invasion
Police in the Village of Waverly say they are investigating a home invasion robbery that targeted an elderly resident late in the afternoon on July 23.
Police say they were called at 5:20 p.m. with the report that three men had forced entry into a home on Chemung Street at around 4:45 p.m. and demanded money.
According to the victim, the intruders had handguns and assaulted a woman in the home. The men demanded and stole money in the incident.
The resident reportedly suffered a head injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The New York State Police Troop C Forensic Identification Unit is assisting Waverly Police in the investigation.
Police have not provided a description of the suspects.
