Authorities say 26-year-old Nickole Hoyt of Ackley Avenue sustained minor injuries in the crash on Downs Avenue Saturday.

The car Hoyt was driving wound up on its roof in the front yard of a home.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, witnesses told deputies they had not noticed an animal in the roadway prior to the crash. But they said they saw the car traveling at an "unsafe" speed before it struck a utility pole and overturned.

Hoyt was charged with speed not reasonable and prudent and failing to maintain lane. She was issued appearance tickets for Dickinson town court.
