Downstate Residents Accused of Moving Drugs Through Southern Tier
New York State Police say two downstate residents are accused of moving over two pounds of cocaine through the western Southern Tier.
Troopers’ Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), Elmira Police and Chemung County Sheriff’s office arrested 34-year old Donell Alexander of New York City and 33-year-old Shenell Boyd of the Bronx jULY 29 in a raid on West Water Street in Elmira.
Officials say they seized 2.3 pounds of coke, 15 grams of marijuana, $2,908 dollars and a 2004 Lexus sedan.
Alexander is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration.
Boyd is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The pair is being held in the Chemung County Jail without bail.
Officials with the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office were also involved in the investigation.
