Calling hours are scheduled for July 19 for a man who was a pillar of the region’s professional golf tournament.

According to an obituary placed by the family, Timothy Myers, a founder of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in 2007 and lifelong employee of Dick’s Sporting Goods, passed away Thursday, July 15 at the age of 65.

Meyers began his job at the Binghamton-based retailer as a teenager and never worked anywhere else.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. July 19 at Our Lady of Sorrows in Vestal.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. July 20 and will be live streamed at the Our Lady of Sorrows Vestal YouTube site.  The family requests those who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to express their condolences through email.  Masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Timothy Meyer’s memory can be made to the Sports Matter Foundation at www.sportsmatter.org.
