Demolition Date Set for the Old Endicott Inn

A run-down hotel building on Washington Avenue in Endicott finally will be torn down.

Demolition work at the site of the former Endicott Inn is expected to begin around February 15.

Crews already have started making preparations for the removal of the two-story structure located north of Union-Endicott High School.

The 57-room building was known as the Frederick Motor Lodge and then the Inn Towne Motor Lodge in the past. In its early years, many of its guests were IBM employees who were in Endicott for business or training.

More recently as the Endicott Inn, the place became known as a trouble spot that kept village police busy.

Ramco Development and Holdings acquired the property for $550,000 last month.

Developer Justin Marchuska said the last few people who were residing in the building moved out in late December.

LCP Group of Vestal has been hired to demolish the structure and an adjacent building that had housed restaurants and nightclubs over the years.

A state grant was awarded last year for the demolition project. The goal is to create a shovel-ready site for construction of a "brand-name hotel."
