The Crime Victims Assistance Center is recognizing some upcoming events, as we enter a month that is designated to creating awareness and prevention of crimes, involving assault and abuse of both children and adults.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Sexual Assault Awareness Month across our nation, in addition CVAC also recognizes April 18th through April 24th as Crime Victims Rights Week.

The Crime Victims Assistance Center provides shelter and counseling to those who have been affected by a crime, they also provide a 24 hour crisis line, and advocacy programs.

In addition, CVAC’s mission is to educate the community, and provide compassionate care those in need.

There is a real problem in our country with child predators grooming kids on social media and other vessels, the Crime Victims Assistance Center has Zoom meetings available to provide education, and how to deal with abuse situations.

The Child Safety series is a virtual presentation to educate parents about keeping our children safe and informed.

The upcoming series includes “What Are You Talking About?” on April 14th , “Protective Prospectives” on April 20th , and “Youth, Technology, and Consent” on April 28th   Find out more.

On April 24th CVAC will hold a virtual 5K Run/Walk in Norwich to benefit the Chenango County Child Advocacy Center, and their purchase of forensic equipment for Chenango Memorial Hospital.
