Authorities say Hinshaw is accused of stealing more than $240,000 from Advanced Design Consulting USA of Lansing.

Company officials reported the theft to state police in September.

Hinshaw is suspected of issuing checks from business accounts to herself and then forging the owner's signature.

Police say the thefts had been occurring since 2007. Investigators say Hinshaw was able to conceal the activity by altering the company's business records.

Hinshaw was arrested on November 10. She was arraigned in Lansing town court and sent to Tompkins County Jail on $10,000 bail.
