District Attorney Patrick Perfetti says 32-year-old  Matthew Price of Marathon was convicted of felony Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child and several other sexual offense felonies.

New York State Police said a relative alerted them that it was believed Price had subjected a girl to sexual contact.

He had been charged with felony rape and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child in April of 2018. Prosecutors had alleged Price committed repeated and forcible rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse of his victim in June of 2017.

In a statement from the D.A.'s office, special victims prosecutor, Christine Ferraro said, “The loss of innocence in these types of cases is truly tragic. However, the victim felt empowered being able to face the defendant and testify about the horrific abuse at the hands of this sexual predator.”
