Cortland County Offering Snowmobile Safety Course

A snowmobile safety course will be presented this week by the Cortland County Sheriff's Department.

Those between the ages of 10 and 18 must take the course and earn a safety certificate before they may legally operate a snowmobile in New York state.

The course is sponsored by the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

The free one-day event will be held on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. The course will be offered at the Cortland County Regional Center on Route 13 in Cortland.
