Snowmobile Crash Victim Identified

The snowmobile operator who died on a trail in Homer March 18 is identified as 45 year old Franklin Mills Junior of Manlius.

He lost control of the machine on the trail off Chapman Road at around 7 p.m.  Sheriff’s officials say they are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash

Mills was traveling north on Trail Number S57 when he lost control for an unknown reason.  He was alone on the snow machine.

Mills was pronounced dead at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
