A town of Virgil man has been charged in connection with a domestic disturbance.

Authorities say 33-year-old Scott Longrie of Budzinski Road was arrested following a dispute late Tuesday night.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff's Department, Longrie allegedly pinned a woman to a bed, grabbed her by the neck and would not allow her to get up.

Investigators say the woman was hurt in the incident but she declined medical attention.

Police say the incident happened while a child was present.

Longrie was charged with strangulation and unlawful imprisonment. He also faces counts of endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

Longrie was arraigned in Virgil town court. He was sent to Cortland County Jail on $10,000 bail.
