New York State Police are releasing the name of the man who was killed in a collision between his Subaru Impreza and a tanker truck carrying whey.

61 year old Ronald of Cortland was driving south on Route 90 in the Town of Homer at 8:42 a.m. September 22 when his car drifted into the path of the northbound tractor trailer driven by 48 year old Michael Gross of Norwich.

The tanker truck caught fire after ending up in a swamp, spilling diesel fuel and some of the milk byproduct.

Reed was pronounced dead at the scene while Gross was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
