A Conklin man will go to jail for eight months for killing his sister’s dog because it had urinated in the house.

20 year old Kobe Hanns executed the dog after telling his sister he was going to shoot it.

Hanns was convicted of four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal mischief in a bench trial.

Judge Kevin Dooley said he believed Hanns fabricated his account of the incident while under oath.

District Attorney Steve Cornwell says his office takes animal cruelty cases very seriously.
