Conklin Man Dies When Vehicle Slams Into Tree in Kirkwood

A Broome County resident has died as the result of a vehicle crash in the town of Kirkwood.

Authorities say 30-year-old Eric Marks of Conklin was traveling southeast on Route 11 when the vehicle went off the roadway. It struck a culvert, went into a ditch and struck a tree before coming to rest in the ditch.

According to New York State Police, troopers were sent to the crash scene around 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

A news release indicated Marks was dead when trooper arrived.

No additional information was provided about the crash investigation.
