A Cincinnatus man is accused of crashing while trying to elude arrest by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 27 year old Derick Ledger on Route 221 in the Town of Willet at around 9:30 p.m. January 19 but he wouldn’t stop.  Deputies say Ledger lost control of his vehicle and crashed twice.  He finally was stopped following the second crash on Landers Corner Road.

Authorities say Ledger is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, speeding, driving without a license, unsafe tire, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail.

Deputies say, in spite of crashing twice, Ledger was not hurt.
