Police arrested 36 year old Matthew Neer on Silver Street.  The stabbing allegedly occurred on Mechanic Street in Norwich.

Police say the two men apparently had been involved in an argument and the victim sustained a stab wound to the ribs.  The victim has been released from the hospital.

Norwich Police accuse Neer of trying to hide the knife when they showed up at his home.

In addition to the felony counts, Neer is charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.

He was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $50,000 bail.
