Two Broome County residents are accused of cooking meth in their vehicle as they pulled over into the parking lot of the Sunoco Express Mart on Old Front Street early April 6.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say, at 2 a.m., they found a car leaving the Red Roof Inn with a suspended New York State license plate.

The Sheriff’s Sergeant pulled the car over in the gas station parking lot and found an active one-pot meth lab in the vehicle.

35 year old Matthew Najarian of Binghamton and 34 year old Jessica Palmatier of the Town of Dickinson are both charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Palmatier is also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance while Najarian is additionally charged on three arrest warrants for stalking in the Town of Colesville, criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in  Johnson City and in a Broome County Family Court case.

Both were sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.

Sheriff’s officials say the gas station was shut down for a few hours and evacuated until the potentially explosive materials in the meth lab were secured and removed.
