Bob Joseph/WNBF News [March 5, 2014][/caption]Former Tioga County car dealer Calvin Harris says he was targeted and hunted in the disappearance of his wife, Michele and is suing investigators, witnesses and others in connection with the presumed murder 15 years ago.

Harris says he lost time with his children and his business and served three years in prison after being found guilty twice of murder in convictions that ended up being overturned.

Harris stood trial a third time that resulted in a hung jury before being found not guilty in a bench trial.

The 55 year old’s lawyer says, in spite of being acquitted, Harris is still labeled a murderer as a result of the national attention the case got.

Michele Harris was last seen September 11, 2001 with investigators presuming she was dead.  The woman’s body was never found and no suspected murder weapon was recovered.

Cal Harris’ lawsuit was filed in federal court and seeks unspecified compensation.
