BU Women Win Conference Opener

The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team won their America East conference opener on Saturday afternoon defeating the Maine Black Bears in Bangor, Maine by a final score of 66-62 in overtime.  The win puts Binghamton's overall record at 10-4 and is their sixth consecutive victory.  Maine is now 1-1 in America East and 8-7 overall.

The Bearcats head home and will host the New Hampshire Wildcats on Wednesday evening at 7 PM (air at 645 on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM).  The Wildcats were the unanimous preseason favorites to win America East .ith the Bearcats picked to finish third.

New Hampshire  is 1-1 in America East and 10-5 overall.  The Wildcats defeated UMBC 56-51 and fell to Albany 66-53.  New Hampshire is led by the reigning America East Player of the Year Carlie Pogue.  Pogue is averaging 15.9 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per contest.
