The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team is on Long Island for their America East game tonight (Monday) at 7 PM (6:45 air on News Radio 1290 WNBF)  against the Stony Brook Seawolves.  The Bearcats are looking to bounce back from a 61-38 loss to Maine at the Events Center on Saturday afternoon.

Stony Brook is looking to build on its 66-58 road win at Hartford on Saturday.  That ups their record to 5-5 in America East and 13-10 overall.  Binghamton comes into tonight's contest with a 6-4 conference slate and 15-8 overall.

Stony Brook dropped a 67-59 decision to the Bearcats at the Events Center last month. BU has a 22-21 edge in the series at the Division I level.

The Seawolves are led by Shania Johnson who is averaging 15.5 points per game.  Imani Watkins fuels the Bearcats'  attack averaging 21.8 points per game which is tops in America East and tenth in the nation.

Heading into the week Albany and Maine are tied for the conference lead with  records of 8-2.  Binghamton is tied with New Hampshire and Hartford for third place at 6-4.  Following tonight's game the Bearcats head to UMBC in suburban Baltimore Thursday night.  BU meets the Retrievers in the first women's game to be played in UMBC's new Events Center.
