The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team faces a key contest on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM (6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) when they travel to face the UMass Lowell River Hawks.  The River Hawks are in second place in America East with a conference record of 9-4 and tied for second place with the University of Maine.  BU is 6-6 and in fourth place.  The top four teams at the close of the regular season will have the opportunity to host an opening round playoff game.

In the first meeting between the teams back in January the River Hawks defeated the Bearcats 66-56.  Binghamton leads in the series 12-5.  The Bearcats are led by high-scoring guard Kai Moon who is America East's top scorer averaging 20.2 points per game and the current America East Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Following another road game in Hartford on Saturday afternoon the Bearcats return home to host UMBC next Wednesday and New Hampshire on Saturday, February 29.  The America East playoffs begin on Wednesday, March 4.
