The 12th Annual Celebrating Women's Athletics Luncheon was held today (Monday) at the Events Center at Binghamton University.  A record turnout of 680 people attended to hear student speaker and Bearcat basketball standout Kristin Ross and the keynote speaker Swin Cash. Proceeds from the event benefit women's at Binghamton University.

Cash had a remarkable playing career at both the amateur and professional levels.  She was an All-American at the University of Connecticut and a member of the Huskie teams that won the National Championship in 2000 and 2002.  She was a member of the United State Olympic Teams that won gold medals in 2004 and 2012.  Cash also was selected second overall by the Detroit Shock in the 2002 WNBF Draft.

Cash talked about fulfilling her dreams and the importance of women getting equal opportunities in athletics and in life. She retired last year after a 15-year professional career. She was recently honored as one of the Greatest and Most Influential Players in the history of the WNBA. Cash has continued her career in and around athletics and is currently a commentator for CBS Sports as well as a host for MSG and an In-Studio Analyst for New York Knicks telecasts.
