The Binghamton Bearcats men's soccer team opens its season tonight (Friday) at 7 PM at the Bearcats Sports Complex with a match against the George Washington Colonials.  In the first ever meeting between the two last season the teams battled to a 0-0 deadlock.

Last season the Atlantic 10's Colonials went 8-5-5.  Binghamton finished at 7-6-6.  At one time the Bearcats were ranked No. 10 in the NSCAA Northest Region Poll.

Binghamton has its top two scorers back from last year.  Ben Ovestsky and Nikkos Psarras each had 11 total points for the Bearcats.  In goal redshirt Alejandro Cubillo returns after making 18 starts and turning in six solo shutouts last season.

Captains to lead this year's squad are Charlie Novoth and Kevin Flesch.  Novoth served as a captain on last season's team as well.  Following the opener the Bearcats hit the road for five straight games.  They return home on Saturday, September 16 for a 1 PM contest with Columbia University.
