The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team is happy to make the playoffs after missing out last season.  No matter what happens in tonight's (Tuesday's) home game versus Albany the Bearcats will finish as a seventh seed and face the second place team in the final regular season standings.  That will not be decided until tonight's out of town action ends. The regular season comes to a close tonight.

Binghamton will travel to face either Stony Brook or Hartford this Saturday in an America East quarterfinal playoff game.  Whoever wins tonight's match-up between the two in West Hartford will secure second place and host the Bearcats.

Hartford enters tonight's game at 10-5 and Stony Brook is 11-4.  A Hartford win would theoretically put UMBC, Stony Brook and Hartford in a tie for second place and all with 11-5 records.  However, under conference tie-breaking criteria used for tournament seeding purposes Hartford would get the nod for a second seed and pit them against the Bearcats.

Quarterfinal playoff games set for Saturday are:

#6 Albany at #3 UMBC at 1 PM

#8 Maine at #1 Vermont at 7PM

#5 UMass Lowell at #4 seed TBA

#7 Binghamton at #2 seed TBA
