Broome Foreclosure Auction

Close to 3 dozen tax-foreclosed properties in the Southern Tier are up for sale to the highest bidder.

Broome County is holding a property auction at the Holiday Inn, Binghamton on Hawley Street starting at 10 a.m. February 20.  Bidders must register between 8:30 and 10.

On the block are single family homes, multi-family homes, commercial lots, vacant lots and other parcels.

Last year, Broome County sold 45 properties at auction for a profit of over $208,000.

Maples of the parcels can be seen at the office of the Broome county Real Property Tax Department on the second floor of the county office building on Hawley Street in Binghamton.

County officials say the sales help get properties back on the tax rolls and clean up neighborhood blight.
