Broome County Sheriff’s Office Participates in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
This Saturday, October 27th is "National Prescription Drug Take Back Day" and the Broome County Sheriff's Office is taking part in that collection. The Sheriff's Department will be overseeing seven different collection sites in operation from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. Unwanted, outdated or unused prescription and over-the-counter medications can be dropped off at any of the sites. No syringes or sharps will be accepted on Saturday but the Sheriff's Department says in a media release that those items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M. at the Broome County Sheriff's Office Administrative Building in the lobby area.

Windsor Community House, 107 Main Street in Windsor
Johnson City Elks, 4212 Watson Blvd, Johnson City
The Scoop Ice Cream Parking Lot, Route 11 in Whitney Point
Vestal Fire Station #4, 3341 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal
Vestal Elks Lodge #2508, 2071 Vestal parkway West, Vestal
and
American Legion, Post 1700, 305 Maple Street in Endicott
The "National Prescription Drug Take Back Day" is designed to bring law enforcement and the community together to establish a safe collection site for acceptable medication disposal.
