Boscov's Department Store in Downtown Binghamton opened at 7 AM this morning to a line of shoppers.  The store was handing out free holiday bonus cards worth between  $10 and $100 to the first 300 customers.  Several clerks reported a long line of people waiting to get in the door and grab their prize.

In addition Boscov's was offering numerous Doorbusters specials throughout the store.  7 AM was early for a holiday but as one clerk put it she volunteered to work saying the pay was good and they were closing at 1 PM so she had plenty of time to spend with her family.  Boscov's is one of many stores opening early tomorrow.  The store will open its doors at 4 AM.

Although most stores were closed today several are getting a jump on the holiday shopping rush tonight.  Walmart and Target both were scheduled to open at 8 PM this evening while plenty of others will open sometime overnight well before their usual opening time.  Area retailers are expecting a sizeable turnout of shoppers for "Black Friday".  Mild temperatures and dry weather are factors that store owners are hoping will push turnouts to even high figures.
