Binghamton Teenager Wounded in Shooting
Binghamton police detectives are investigating a pair of shooting incidents, including one in which a 16-year-old boy was injured.
Authorities said the first shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. Sunday on the West Side. The second was reported around 11:20 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex downtown.
No injuries were reported in the first incident but a teenager was wounded in the second.
In that case, police officers were sent to building "D" at the Woodburn Court II apartments at 100 Susquehanna Street. The 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his thigh was found in a parking lot behind the building.
The youth - whose name was not released - was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police did not report his condition but they said he had sustained a "non-life-threatening injury."
Investigators found four .45 caliber casings at the scene.
In the early Sunday morning incident, police were sent to the area of 161 Laurel Avenue to investigate a report of shots fired.
Officers located a shooting scene at 68 Thorpe Street. The residence had been struck by gunfire four times. Four .45 caliber casings were located in the roadway.
Police were unable to provide descriptions of possible suspects in the two shootings.
