Authorities say Dushane Murphy of Fayette Street, Binghamton, was arrested Wednesday following a two-month-long investigation.

According to Johnson City police, forced entry was made to a village home. An occupant was attacked during the incident. Some money also was reported stolen.

Detectives did not indicate whether the person who was assaulted sustained serious injuries or required medical treatment following the attack. They also did not say when or where in Johnson City the incident occurred.

Murphy was charged with first-degree burglary, a felony. He was arraigned in Johnson City village court and sent to Broome County Jail pending further court action.

Investigators said Murphy was familiar with the person who was attacked. They said further charges are pending.
