Binghamton’s Vacant Properties Open To Proposals For Renewal
June 4, 2026, a Request for Proposals was issued for the rehabilitation and sale of two vacant residential properties owned by the City of Binghamton by Mayor Jared Kraham. The properties are located at 182 Hawley Street and 3 Cary Street.
According to the release from the Mayor, the City of Binghamton is in search for qualified developers, investors, or future owner-occupants to acquire, rehabilitate, and return the two properties to quality housing with an aim to support neighborhood stabilization and housing goals.
Every vacant property is a missed opportunity for a family in need of a home and for a block waiting to be revitalized. This RFP is our invitation to developers, investors, and future homeowners who share our commitment to rebuilding Binghamton's housing stock. We've kept the process simple and accessible on purpose because we want to hear from a wide range of qualified buyers. If you have a vision for one of these properties, I encourage you to submit a proposal.- City of Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham
