Binghamton Police Summer Camp Awarded Grant
The non-profit youth camp operated by the Binghamton Police Athletic League is getting a big lift from the United Way of Broome County.
A $20,000 grant is going to the PAL Camp in Kirkwood to repair roofs and other infrastructure and help with operating expenses.
The United Way and other donors raised the funds to help provide free day camp facilities for children ages 7 to 13 from the City of Binghamton and surrounding communities.
The camp was started in 1947.
The camp runs from July 5 to August 6.
Camp applications are available outside the Binghamton Police Headquarters at City Hall.
