The City of Binghamton Police are among those participating in “No Shave November” to raise money for the American Cancer Society and raise awareness about prostate cancer.

Participants vow not to shave for the month as they look for donations.

For law enforcement officers participating, it’s more than just a decision to put down the razor for 30 days.  Police departments have a lot of regulations, including concerning facial hair.  The City of Binghamton Police Department is waiving the regulations requiring male officers not to have beards for the month to allow in the participation in the Grow Nation Fundraiser.

Binghamton Police efforts to fight breast and prostate cancer can be helped with online donations at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/BPD.
