Binghamton Mets Heading For Home
The Binghamton Mets are rounding third and heading for home in spring training. After a couple of more exhibition games Binghamton will finalize its roster and head north. Today at 1:00 PM the B-Mets travel to Jupiter to play the Springfield Cardinals...the St. Louis Cardinals Double-A affiliate.
Yesterday, Binghamton played the Jacksonville Suns in Port St. Lucie. The Suns who are the Double-A affiliates of the Miami Marlins earned a 6-2 win over the B-Mets. Hansel Robles made the start and took the loss on the mound for Binghamton.
The B-Mets season opener is just one week away. Next Thursday night the B-Mets host the Akron RubberDucks at 6:35 to open a new season at NYSEG Stadium. Next Wednesday the annual Welcome Back B-Mets Dinner will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Binghamton. Tickets are priced at $25 per person with proceeds going to benefit the B-Mets Booster Club. An autograph session begins at 5:30 PM with dinner at 7 followed by the introduction of stafff and players. All games will again be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF and ESPN 1360 AM.
