The 23rd Annual Thanksgiving dinner was held today (Thanksgiving) in the Binghamton High school cafeteria.  Hundreds of members of the Greater Binghamton community attended.  For some it was about the fellowship and hospitality that attracted hundreds of members of the community to attend.  For others it was a needed meal for them and their families on Thanksgiving Day.

Organizers told WNBF News over 200 students staff and faculty member gave up much of their holiday to help others.  Visitors were met at the entrance to the school's cafeteria.  From there student volunteers escorted individuals and family alike to take part in the meal and sit at open tables in the school's cafeteria.

The Thanksgiving meal featured roast turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and lots more including fresh vegetables and apple and pumpkin pies.

Honor Society students had key roles in the dinner including organizing and planning the event and security as well.  Along with honor roll students at Binghamton High School many other students volunteered their time to help in whatever way possible.

Although no figures have been released yet the dinner helped make Thanksgiving a wonderful day for individuals and families from all around the area.  The bonding between students, staff and the community made for a holiday to remember.
