Binghamton is among 45 communities that will share $9 million in New York State grants to deal with blighted properties.

Attorney General Letitia James was in Utica July 10 to announced the “Zombies 2.0” funding that gives communities between $50,000 and $500,000.

The Democrat’s office says the size of the grants is based on the size of the community, the severity of the zombie problems and their proposed use of the money.

This week, Binghamton Mayor Richard David celebrated the 100th demolition of a blighted property in the City since 2014.
