Binghamton started the game on a good note with a shot into the net from Graeme Clark, just 28 seconds into the first period to put the Devils up 1-0.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton tied up the game towards the end of the first period with less then 4 minutes remaining in the first on a Jan Drozg shot past goalie Gilles Senn and the first period ended at one apiece.

The Penguins would strike first in period two on a power play goal scored by forward Nick Schilkey with almost eight minutes into the period to go up 2-1, going into the second intermission.

The Devils trailed through the Third period and were forced to send Gilles Senn’s to the side lines for an extra skater leaving the net empty, when Nolan Foote scored with just 1:19 left in regulation  to send the game into overtime.

Overtime was a defensive battle until Jordy Bellerive took it the length of the ice with time running out and scored the winning goal with just 17 seconds left in OT, to give the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins a 3-2 win over the Devils.

Binghamton has lost several overtime games this season, and remain at the bottom of the AHL Northern Division at 3-12.

 

The Binghamton Devils hit the road to take on their division Rivals The Hershey Bears this Saturday April 3rd for a 1pm faceoff  at the Giant Center.
