Binghamton Devils Suffer Another Weekend loss to Hershey 4-2
The Binghamton Devils lose to their Northern Division rivals the Hershey Bears on Saturday night in front of almost 1000 fans at the GIANT Center in Hershey.
The Bears struck early with a Connor McMichael goal with just a minute and a half into the game to put Hershey up 1-0, but Binghamton came back with a rebound goal from Ben Thompson to tie it a one a piece, ending the first period.
Period two looked good with a defensive battle between the teams, until Hershey’s Cameron Schilling scored off a rebound in front to the net, to put the Bears up 2-1 going into the second intermission.
The highlight of the night for Binghamton was a game tying goal, and the first professional goal for the Devil’s Tyler Irvine with 5;45 left in regulation, but unfortunately it didn’t last long, as Connor McMichael scored his second goals of the night to put the Bears up 3-2.
The Devils tried to rally sending Gilles Senn to the sidelines to bring in an extra skater, but Brian Pihno put a shot into the empty net to seal the victory 4-2.
It’s been a tough year for the Binghamton Devils, they fall to 3-13 (league worst record) and are in last place in the Northern division, with 17 games remaining.
The Binghamton Devils host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms tonight (April 5th) at the RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House for a 7pm Face Off!
