The Binghamton Bearcats had their most successful combined finish at a conference track and field meet since they joined America East in 2002.  Both teams earned runner-up honors at the America East Indoor Championships that were held Sunday and Monday at the New York City Armory.  Albany swept both team titles.  Albany has won the team championship in men's competition for nine straight years and their women have captured first place for the fourth time in the past five years.

In men's competition BU freshman Jon Alkins won the 200 in 21.58 and finished in second place in the 60 at 6.96.  Grad student Zach Keefer captured the 500 title in a time of 1:03:58 while junior Jesse Garn was victorious in the 1000 at 2:26:19.

For the Bearcats women Keishorea Armstrong won the triple jump at 39-0 1/4 and earned third place in the 200 and fourth place in the 60.   Senior Sara Wickes finished in second place in the triple jump at 38-8 3/4 while sophomore Tori Shaffer finished second at 5-7 in the high jump.

Binghamton's men's team has  finished in second place in six of the last seven America East Indoor Championships.  The BU women had their best finish since entering America East and finished second at the conference Outdoor Championships last Spring.
