Binghamton Athletics Honors Class of 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

In what will go down as one of the most memorable days in recent Binghamton Athletics history the University honored four outstanding student athletes and one of the most successful teams in school history on Saturday.  On the heels of Binghamton's overtime win over Boston University in men's basketball at the Events Center the Athletics Department held induction ceremonies for the Class of 2019 entering the Binghamton University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Honored were:

Tennis player Anna Edelman from the class of 2011

Edelman's accomplishments include; America East Player of the year in 2011, Three-time America East all-conference selection, Binghamton University Athlete of the Year in 2010-11, Holds school records in singles and doubles wins in one season and was nationally ranked in singles competition.

Basketball player Larry Gainen from the class of 1968

Gainen's  accomplishments include; total of 962 career points, two-time team MVP, Averaged 19.3 points per game in his final three seasons, Binghamton's Athlete of the year in 1968 and academically was a Phi Betta Kappa member and a finalist for a Rhodes Scholarship.

Track and Field athlete Hasani Hampden from the class of 2006

Hampden's accomplishments include; Two-time America East heptathlon champion, Five-time all-conference selection, Binghamton record-holder in 400 hurdles, NCAA Regional qualifier in 400 hurdles in 2006 and a Two-time America East All-Academic selection.

Volleyball player Michelle McDonough from the class of 2011

McDonough's accomplishments include; Two-time Binghamton Athlete of the Year, Three-time America East all-conference selection, All-time career leader with 1,469 kills, America-East Scholar-Athlete of the Year for volleyball in 2010 and John Bilos Alumni Award for career achievement in 2011.

1999-2000 Women's Basketball Team

Accomplishments include; Record of 27-2 and 16-0 in the Division II New England Collegiate Conference, had a 14-0 home record, at one point ranked 17th in Division II in the nation, Top seed for the ECAC Championship and defeated Adelphi  and Philadelphia for the championship.

The new inductees were introduced at halftime of the men's basketball game and then honored again at a Hall of Fame Dinner following the game also at the Events Center.
