The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team defeated the UMBC Retrievers at the Retrievers Activities Center (RAC) by a final score of 68-56.  It was the first road win of the season for the Bearcats and ups their America East conference record to 2-6.  That puts the Bearcats in sixth place in the AE standings.  UMBC and Maine are tied for the last spot in the conference with one win each.

Binghamton was led by two freshmen.  Willie Rodriguez scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebvounds.  Bobby Ahearn hit for 11 points and six rebounds.  Sophomore guard Marlon Beck also came up big for the Bearcats with nine points, six rebounds and six assists.  Beck, who is from Bowie, Md, played in front of over two dozen family members and friends.

Next up for the Bearcats are two consecutive home games.  BU hosts UMass Lowell January 31 at 2 p.m.. Then, at 7p.m. Februaruy3 the Bearcats entertain the Hartford Hawks at 7 p.m.
